NEWS BRIEFING:
The leading social network, Twitter, began testing the most requested 'edit button' features. This feature will be available to 'twitter blue users' within a few months. The Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, recently joined Twitter's board of directors following a barrage of criticism, jokes, and tweets directed at the Company. Ultimately, he created a poll to determine whether an edit button is required, which cast nearly 4.4 million votes, and 73 percent of people agreed to get the edit button.
On the other hand, Tesla CEO Elon Musk bought 9.2% of Twitter stocks, making him the Company's largest stakeholder now. Surprisingly, it also raised Twitter's stock value by up to 25 percent when Elon Musk invested in this social network. A study found that this 9.2% stock is worth $2.89 billion, the largest investment in this social network.
Twitter edit button:
Isn't it fascinating to create a new feature demanded by its influencer? However, Twitter weakened our doubts by tweeting that the idea for the edit button feature was not inspired by Elon Musk's recent tweet but that the Company had to work on it for over a year. Twitter officially stated on Tuesday that they will be trying to figure out ways to edit tweets.
This is not their first attempt at incorporating the most contentious edit button feature. Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey opposes this same edit option feature because it has the potential to alter the entire context or meaning of a widely shared tweet by its users. Following his resignation from Twitter last year, the new CEO, Parag Agarwal, announced the launch of the edit button feature on Twitter and other major social networks such as Facebook, allowing users to edit and correct their mistakes without deleting their posts. Twitter also stated that it will not change the semantics or context of its users' Tweets and that there will be some restrictions on who can edit their tweets without retweeting them.
It has nothing to do with Elon Musk.
Twitter officially confirmed the edit button features, claiming that they have nothing to do with Elon Musk's tweet or poll and that they have been developing the edit button feature since last year.
Elon Musk's critical messages against this social media company have recently flooded Twitter. Musk created poll after poll and asked his friends and followers if they thought there was a need for a new social media network that is transparent, open-source, and promotes free expression. It was a huge breakthrough for this social media company.
Furthermore, it gave him the incidental investment on this social network, buying the largest number of shares and raising its stock value globally in the recent few days. In the criticism, when Elon Musk's followers asked him to buy Twitter, it was a dazzling April Fools' joke, but Elon took it on purpose and bought 10% of the Company. He also made investments in some of his other Company's projects like the Tesla AI robot etc.
When Twitter edit button will rollout?
The Twitter edit button will be available in a few months. In a recent tweet, Twitter consumer product VP Jay Sullivan stated that editing tweets have been the most requested feature for many years and that the Company is working to find a safer way to create edit tweet options without time limits, control, and transparency.
According to the Company, the Edit button will most likely be available in Twitter Blue, a premium Twitter with exclusive external features and customization options for a small fee. Twitter blue is only available in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. However, other countries worldwide will not be able to use the edit option on Twitter for a while; it will take a few months to roll out the edit tweet option globally.

Twitter edit button pros and cons?
Twitter is introducing a controversial edit tweet option for Twitter Blue. Many users on its platform have expressed dissatisfaction with the edit function, claiming that it can change the entire context and meaning of widely shared tweets in the political, social, and economic fields. However, Twitter does not alter its path based on what users find useful or necessary, and they have confirmed the rollout of the edit tweet option.
Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, on the other hand, was also opposed to the edit tweet option, which was later addressed by the Company's product VP as creating safely so that nothing is misused to alter the record of the public conversation.
